Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 18, 2026

Oglethorpe Goods is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to the beauty of Savannah and the goods we make in its honor.

Our Commitment

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. This statement reflects our ongoing efforts; we do not represent that the site fully conforms to Level AA at this time, and some content may not yet meet every success criterion (see Known Limitations below).

We also aim to support the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable accessibility laws.

Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
  • Descriptive alt text for all product and decorative images
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
  • Visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content link
  • Attention to color contrast across primary content, with some secondary text still being brought up to WCAG AA ratios
  • ARIA labels for complex interactive components (cart, menus, forms)
  • Responsive design that adapts to zoom levels up to 200%
  • Consistent navigation and predictable page structure
  • Form validation with clear error messages
  • Text alternatives for non-text content

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We regularly audit our site, test with assistive technologies, and train our team to maintain and improve accessibility. When we add new features, we design with accessibility in mind from the start.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware that certain secondary and decorative text does not currently meet WCAG AA color-contrast ratios, and we are actively remediating it along with any other gaps. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, we want to hear about it and will provide the information or assistance you need in the meantime.

Feedback and Reporting

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of oglethorpegoods.com. If you experience any difficulty accessing content, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please let us know:

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.

Alternative Access

If you are unable to complete a purchase or access information due to an accessibility issue, please email us. We will gladly assist you by phone, email, or an alternative method to ensure you can shop and engage with our brand.

Third-Party Content

Our site uses services from third parties (Stripe for checkout and payments, Printful for fulfillment) that maintain their own accessibility practices. We encourage these partners to meet accessibility standards but cannot guarantee accessibility of external content or services.
